An octavo measuring 9" by 7" with the front hinge cracked and the rear hinge starting, an early prior owner's name and date of 1899 (sic) on the second free end page and with several very short closed tears to the cloth at the head of the spine and light shelf wear to the cloth at the lower edges of the boards. 206 pages of text illustrated with a color title page and 18 color plates by Mary Cowles Clark. The Twenty-two chapters divided between Book First, Book Second and Book Third.

I bought this book for myself, but my husband took it and enjoyed every page of it. He even told me about it as he was ready it. Considering my husband is not a reader this is amazing.

This is a great book with beautiful illustrations. My granddaughter (who is a huge fan of The Wizard of Oz--also by L. Frank Baum) was delighted with it.
